Weight loss progress: Week 1
I’ve updated my current goal progress, and I got to admit that it didn’t go quite as expected. I’ve only dropped
0.66 lbs 0,3 kg. in a week which is much less than I anticipated, but it wont get me down. I’m still 0.66 lbs 0,3 kg. closer to my goal than I was last week, so I just gotta keep going.
Since my last post quite a few things has happened – I’ve been gearing up for my weight loss project!
First of all, I bought a Garmin vívosmart activity tracker – mostly because I was curious to see how active I am on a day-to-day basis. From the moment I put it on I was in love – and tracking my daily steps has almost become a competition for me. Each day I’m trying to do more steps than the day before, so it’s quite motivating. The Garmin Connect app is brilliant too. You put in your age, height, weight, activity level, etc. and it calculates how many calories you burn from your daily steps. And it also has the possibility to connect with MyFitnessPal, so you have a full overview of your day. I haven’t used MyFitnessPal before, but after I bought the vívosmart I thought I’d give it a try. So far I haven’t been very good at remembering to put in the food I eat, but I’m sure I’ll get better eventually.

Wanting to exercise more after getting the vívosmart has also made me look for workout clothes, and that has been a whole other dimension of annoying. In my country there aren’t a lot of options when it comes to plus size workout clothing, so I tried finding some from the US. I think I spent a fair amount of hours researching and picking out what I wanted, only to find out that the webshop didn’t ship to my country.. Bummer!
In the end I managed to find some running tights from another place, so now I’m just waiting for the package to arrive. I’m very anxious to see if the fit is right, or if I have to return it and start searching all over again. They look very promising, so I really, really hope that the fit is good 🙂
Thinking of ways to make exercising more fun I was inspired by reddit user smiichan, who I posted progress pictures of last week. A part of her exercise was to use Wii’s Just Dance for an hour each day, and since I love to dance, I thought it would be worth a try. I just got the game today, and it’s already obvious that I have absolutely no rhythm in my body what so ever. But the game seems to be a lot of fun, and I don’t care how silly I look when I dance – I can only get better at it 😉
If you want to see what kind of madness dancing I’ve gotten myself into, here’s a short trailer for the game 🙂
Looking forward to next weeks update! The progress can only get better from here when I have all of the above to keep me moving 😉
